Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks?
Choose for the work you do.
The best accounting platform is the one that fits your workflow, reporting needs, team and adviser—not simply the one with the loudest promotion.
Start with requirements
Compare the workflow
before the subscription.
All three platforms provide core cloud-accounting functions, but available features and plan limits change. Before choosing, map invoicing, bills, bank feeds, GST, payroll, inventory, projects, users, permissions and the reports you actually need.
Check the current Australian plan directly with the provider. A low entry price can become expensive if essential payroll, inventory, multi-currency, approvals or additional users require another plan or connected app.
Xero
Review bank reconciliation, invoicing, bills, payroll, reporting, projects and connected-app requirements against the current Australian plans.
Official Xero features ↗MYOB
Review tax and GST, payroll and super, invoicing, inventory and whether the selected MYOB product fits existing desktop or cloud workflows.
Official MYOB features ↗QuickBooks
Review bank feeds, GST, invoicing, expenses, reporting, inventory, projects and user permissions against the current plan.
Official QuickBooks features ↗Migration matters
Clean first.
Move once.
Before switching, reconcile banks and control accounts, review unpaid invoices and bills, confirm payroll and GST balances, decide how much history to retain and take a secure backup. Agree on a cut-over date and test opening balances before abandoning the old system.
Software does not repair unclear processes by itself. Document who raises invoices, approves purchases, codes transactions, reconciles accounts and reviews reports.
